Established in 1944, V8 Ranch is known across the world for their excellence in Brahman cattle breeding. The ranch was started by Howard Parker of Center, Texas, and later purchased in 1971 by Sloan and Mollie Williams.

Ranching has been in the Williams family for over 100 years. Sloan's family was in the cattle business in Millican, Texas, and Mollie grew up on the J.D. Hudgins Ranch as the daughter of Lanier and Ann Forgason, the original creators of Forgason Division of J.D. Hudgins. This close family tie still remains, as we maintain a special relationship of great respect and friendship between the Hudgins and V8 Ranch.

The Original V8 Cowherd

In 1976, Jim graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in animal science and he and his wife Luann returned to the ranch. Since this time, Sloan and his son Jim have established the ranch as a leading source of Brahman genetics.

...OUr signature type female with that
...
unmistakeable v8 style.

Since it's inception, the ranch has placed tremendous importance on great cow families. We have continually selected and bred our females for fertility, conformation, Brahman breed characteristics, structural correctness, and a certain "V8" style that is recognized around the world.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Jim managed the V8 show cattle and traveled all across the United States showing some of the early V8 greats like Miss V8 104/2, Mr. V8 777/2 "Titan", Miss V8 617/2 and several others.

...+WR Mr. Suva 203
During this time, V8 Ranch added key animals to their ranch by purchasing interests in leading sires of the time including +WR Mr.Suva 203, the #1 bull of the ABBA Register of Rewown and +JDH Atari Manso 601. Also during this time, Jim developed an interest in the famed U.S. Sugar Corporation bloodlines, making several trips to Florida to study this great herd. When this ranch dispersed, we were able to add a significant amount of U.S. Sugar genetics, and this bloodline has continually been emphasized on the ranch. The purchase of the Atari bull and the U.S. Sugar genetics turned out to be
significant breeding decisions, as this mating resulted in the greatest Brahman bull of the 1980s and 1990s, +Mr. V8 202/3.

+Mr. v8 202/3 —The breeds only 3-time national and 2-time international champion
This bull put V8 Ranch in the Brahman record books by being the breed's only 3-time National Champion (1986-1987-1988) and 2-time International Champion Bull (1987-1988). 202/3 was syndicated across the world, and went on to sire some of the breed's recent greats, such as +JDH Madison de Manso 737, Mr. V8 666/3, Miss V8 666/3, Miss V8 725/3, and hundreds of other superior animals around the globe.

In the late 1980s, Rachel became eligible to show in the junior Brahman circuit, winning her first "All American" at Angleton in 1987. When Catherine became eligible to show, she too enjoyed great success in junior Brahman programs. Between these two sisters, no other family has won more "All American" Grand Championships in the history of the breed. During their junior show era of 1987 to 2001, they established many lasting friendships with fellow Brahman breeders. We continue to support the junior programs and believe this is the best way to help encourage the future of our breed.

In the 1990s, several significant sires were utilized on the ranch, including +Mr. V8 202/3, +Mr. V8 189/4, +Mr. V8 702/3, and +JDH Remington Manso. These sire lines, combined with the Sugar breeding, all contributed to creating our most dominant bull since 202....+Mr. V8 287/5 "Superstroke".

...+mr. v8 287/5 — the legend
"Superstroke" was born in 1998, and has been a mainstay in he V8 herd for the past ten years. His daughters and sons established a new "type" of Brahmans on the ranch...known for their depth of body and muscling, while still maintaining the unique V8 look. Superstroke's notable offspring include two International Champion bulls, one National Champion bull, and two International Champion Female. He also was the six-time undefeated International Champion Get-of-Sire winner (2001-2006).

Presently, the Superstroke genetics have worked extremely well when crossed with J.D. Hudgins bloodlines including

Karu and Liberty. We are excited about the influence of what we predict to be our next great herd sire, Mr. V8 380/6 bull, who is a JDH Karu 800 son out of a Superstroke daughter. This bull holds unlimited potential regarding his impact on the Brahman breed, and has already produced several outstanding progeny in his first few calf crops.

Through the years, most of our sales have been private treaty sales negotiated at the ranch. However, V8 Ranch has hosted three production sales, the Golden Gate Sale in 1981, Visions of the Future in 1986, and Power of Production in 2000. Our first sale in 1981 was a tremendous success, breaking 6 Brahman sale world records at the time. This sale still holds the record for the highest-averaging Brahman sale of all time, with an average of $14,357 per head. This success validated our position as a leading breeder of Brahman cattle in the world. In 1986, our Visions of the Future sale again continued to set sale records, and featured flushes in the 617/2 female and "Cover Girl". The flush on the 617/2 female resulted in the 666/3 and 666/3 female which were purchased by Clayton Williams. Our last sale, Power of Production, was held in 2000 and grossed over $1 million dollars, making it one of the most successful Brahman production sales of all time.

As genetics evolve and types may change, we will continue to place our emphasis on the beef-industry traits that have carried us to our success...fertility, soundness, conformation, muscle, and style. We believe in the Brahman breed and it's place in the global beef industry, and work hard to make sure our cattle meet the criteria and characteristics that help feed the world.

On any given day you'll find three generations of family members working side by side on the ranch. Owners Sloan and Mollie Williams have built their lifelong dream of ranching together based around Brahman cattle. In the 1980s and 1990s, Sloan was an avid traveler across the world and visited numerous countries South America, Central America, Thailand, and Australia visiting fellow Breeders.

Their son, Jim serves as ranch manager the cattle and his wife Luann, manages the office. Their daughter, Jan Powell and her husband Terry operate the V8 Horse Division, which includes ranch and rodeo horses.

Sloan and Mollie Williams, Owners

Jim and Luann Williams, Managers
RAchel Cutrer and Catherine Neumayr

Both Sloan and Jim are past presidents of the American Brahman Breeders Association, and serve as approved judges of the ABBA. Rachel Cutrer is also a board member of the ABBA, making the Williams family the only family in the history of the ABBA to have three generations on the ABBA Board of Directors at the same time.

Jim also served as president of the American Shorthorn Association for three terms, the only person in the history of that breed to be elected to three terms. He is an approved judge of all major U.S. beef breeds and has judged numerous national shows, 26 different state fairs, and many international shows. In the Brahman breed, he judged the 2008 International Brahman Show, the 2002 National Brahman Show, and the 2006 World Brahman Congress in Mexico. Luann Williams has served as the office manager since 1976, and she handles the ranch's accounting, registrations and transfers, semen orders, and works with exports.

The third generation of the family (Brandon and Rachel Cutrer; Luke and Catherine Neumayr; and Payton Powell) plan to uphold the integrity by which V8 is known. Brandon and Rachel Cutrer were married in 2010 and share a passion for the Brahman breed. Before moving to Texas, Brandon was herdsman of the beef cattle unit at Mississippi State University. He is an ABBA approved judge, former president of the Mississippi Brahman Association, and former AJBA director during his junior show career. Rachel is an ABBA director and chairman of the youth activities committee.

Luke and Catherine Neumayr each graduated from Texas A&M University with degrees in animal science. After getting married in 2009, Luke joined the V8 Ranch family and he and Catherine currently live on the ranch in one of the original ranch houses. Luke is a former member of the TAMU Livestock Judging Team where he was high individual overall at the National Western in Denver as well as the Fort Worth Stock Show. He is an ABBA approved judge and enjoys judging livestock shows of all species in Texas and throughout the United States. Aside from her involvement with the ranch, Catherine works full time as the creative director for The Show Circuit magazine, a leading nationwide livestock publication. In addition, together, Luke and Catherine operate their own photography business, Our Little Ranch Photography

Payton Powell is continuing the ranch's longstanding interest in the equine industry. Though still a young adult, Payton is an avid barrel racer, calf roper, and all around cowgirl. She has won 21 saddles and numerous buckles from youth rodeo competitions and also enjoys the cattle business.

Matt Karisch joined the V8 Ranch team in 2008 as herdsman. Matt is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in animal science, where he previously worked for 4 years at the TAMU Beef Center where he helped exhibit the TAMU cattle at national and state shows. He is a former member of the TAMU Livestock Judging Team and enjoys judging many TCCA junior shows. Matt provides a big asset to the ranch team with his increasing knowledge of Brahman cattle and show cattle management.

The success of the V8 show cattle has been greatly influenced by the contributions of some of the best herdsmen in the Brahman breed, including Frank Felcman, Dave Sagabiel, James Daniell, Russell McDade, John Bedwell, Jim Graven, Russell Sciba, Brett Muegge, Larry Fisher, and Matt Karisch. We greatly appreciate these men and the impact they have had on our ranch.

Through the years, we have been greatly blessed by God, being able to live the life we do, and doing something we enjoy so much. We always enjoy meeting new Brahman breeders and hearing from those who are interested in the breed.

Miss V8
604/1
GRand Champion Female
1971 East Texas Fair

This photo was taken in 1971, when the ranch was owned by Mr. Howard Parker. Since the ranch was then located in Center, Texas, the East Texas Fair was always one that Mr. Parker enjoyed competing at...and winning! Mr. Parker is pictured here holding the banner, next to Dr. J.K. Riggs of Texas A&M University, who was the judge. Also pictured in the photo is Johnny Joyce, and the showman, Jerry Simon. This was one of the last shows that Mr. Parker showed his cattle at before selling the ranch to our family.
Mr. v8 763/1 Historical Herd Bull

Born in 1970, this bull's was used heavily during the 1970s by our ranch and also J.D. Hudgins Ranch. His notable offspring include our first National Champion, +Miss V8 104/2. This bull was featured in the American Brahman book by Joe Ackerman, the historical reference of the Brahman breed. He sired a National Champion Female for V8 Ranch and two National Champion Females for J.D. Hudgins, Inc.

Grand Champion Female
1976 National Show

Our very first National Champion Female, chosen at the 1976 Louisiana State Fair. This female was later purchased by Charlie Thomas for use in his embryo transfer program and became one of our first Register of Renown females. Her ET mating with Suva produced the many time champion female Miss V8 770/2, who was the Grand Champion Female at the 1982 Washington County Fair, which at that time had 273 entries in the show. Pictured in the photo include Jim, Luann, Les Brandes, Sloan (who looks very happy to be holding the trophy), Ray Focier who was the superintendent of the Louisiana State Fair, John Runnells (ABBA President) showman Frank Felcman, and Ann Mattison.

This was quite the crew here at the 1978 American Royal in Kansas City. While looking through our old photos, we were suprised that there was actually a Brahman show at the Royal, because we have gone to that show for over 15 years...but only with our Shorthorns! Pictured here include legendary showman LaRue Douglas, handlers James Daniel, Gordon Guillot, Dave Sagabiel, and Russell McDade. The beauty is Dinah Weil of HK Ranch, who worked at the ABBA at that time. And the two men on the far right are Uncle Richard Forgason, then ABBA President, and JIm Williams. Nice badge/ribbon Jim.

Mr. V8
347/2
grand champion bull
1979 national show

Our very first National Champion Bull, winning at the 19th National Brahman Show in 1979 at Houston. He set a breed record of selling for $100,000 to Colombia right after he won this show. A bull selling for that amount was virtually unheard of at that time. This was before the International Show had been established. This Register of Renown sire is a son of +Sugarlands Loxacrata 98. His most notable offspring is Bubba Hudgins' +JDH Manso Grande 412 bull. 347's mating with the famous +Miss 3X Mucho Grande 60 cow resulted in a Register of Renown daughter, +Miss V8 930/2, who produced the 1987 "All American" grand champion, Miss V8 450/3. This bull was used heavily in South and Central America.

Also Champion Female at 1980 Houston and Dallas. Especial was one of our favorites of the 1980s. When she was selected by judge Dr. Bill Turner as the National Champion, she was the youngest female to ever win this honor. Pictured here are judge Dr. Bill Turner, Ann Mattison, ABBA President Lee Berwick, Jim Williams, herdsman Dave Sagabiel, Luann Williams, Rachel Williams, Mollie and Sloan Williams.
"suva"
+WR Mr. Suva 203
Grand champion Bull
1980 houston show

— #1 BULL in the ABBA Register of Renown —We purchased an interest in the famed Suva bull in 1979 and a few months later he won the Houston Show for the Watts Family. This legendary bull was shown by Tammie Watts. After his show career ended, he was used heavily by Tic Tac Toe Ranch and V8 Ranch. His showring excellence was reinforced by the results of his first calf crop... 63 champions and 91 class winners! When he entered the Register of Renown, he debuted at the 3rd spot, the highest ranking of any bull to first enter the Register of Renown. Through the years he continued to sire winners, and eventually moved to the #1 spot, a position he still holds today. Pictured here are breeder Max Watts, Glen Urban, judge Dr. Bill Turner, Bob Massey (ABBA President), Jim Williams, Tammy Watts (showman), Kitsy Thomas, Luann Williams, and baby Rachel Williams.

Red Mayro
+MN Mr. Red Mayro 257/2
champion Bull
1981 National SHow

When 257/2 won his national championships in 1980 and 1981, this was before the time when reds and grays had separate shows, and to be quite honest, some of the gray breeders weren't too keen on this bull winnning the show. In fact, when he was named International Champion in 1982, this was the last time that the reds and grays showed together at Houston. We purchased this bull from the Mayronne family of Louisiana and he made a tremendous impact on the Brahman breed and many other American breeds who were developing breeding-up programs at that time including Simbrah, Red Brangus, and Braler. The John Cozad Family purchased 1/2 interest in 257. He sired back to back National Champion Get of Sires in 1984 and 1985. He was also one of the first Brahman "show steer" sires, the Champion Brahman Steer at Houston 5 years in a row (bred by S&S Cattle - Charles Schroeder).257/2 was also Champion Bull at the 1980 National Show and 1982 International Show.
Miss v8 728/2 reserve Champion female
1982 North American

This female is pictured not necessarily for her contributions to the ranch, even though she was the International Champion in 1983,but more for the uniqueness of this photo. First off, you'll see Sloan Williams there at the halter of this female. Also pictured with him is the lovely Dinah Weil, who was the ABBA Recording Secretary at the time. What we find so interesting about this photo is the fact that in the 1980s V8 Ranch took a showstring of Brahman cattle to Louisville. The Williams family has exhibited our Shorthorns at the NAILE for 20 years, however we were shocked to see a Brahman at the famous Louisville backdrop! So, with this honor, we are one of the few ranches to win Louisville championships in two breeds...Brahman and Shorthorn!

Miss v8 617/2 reerve Champion Female
1982 National Show

— #1 Cow in the ABBA Register of Renown —
This prolific donor was a Reserve National Champion twice herself and is one of the all-time greats of the V8 Ranch. She produced two national champion females and a national champion bull. Her mating with +Mr. V8 202/3 produced the legends Mr. V8 666/3, Miss V8 666/3 and Miss V8 725/3 "Amber." 617/2 was the female that Sloan Williams gave to his granddaughter, Rachel, when she was a baby, to start her foundation Brahman herd. Two of 617's daughters, Miss V8 400/5 and Miss V8 402/5, are still donors in production for Rachel on the ranch.
Titan
Mr. V8 777/2
Grand Champion Bull
1983 East Texas STate Fair

Another popular but controversial bull during his time, "Titan" was known for his unique pigment and high performance at that time. At this time, he was the highest performing bull ever on the ranch, boasting a WW ratio of 131%. Born in 1981, he was one of the first sons of the famed +WR Suva 203 bull on the show circuit. During this time, Jim, Luann, Russell McDade, and later Dave Sagabiel travelled across the country with the V8 Showstring. Titan was one of the winningest bulls on the show circuit across the country. He was purchased by the Langston Family of Houston. He produced many Register of Renown animals and was used extensively in Red Brahman programs including Hudson Cattle Corporation.

Big Shot
Mr. V8 15/3
reserve champion bull
1984 world congress

During the era of frame size, this International Champion Bull measured over 70 inches at the hip. In fact, one of the ads we ran on Big Shot proclaimed "He gets bigger by the minute!" His sire is the famous +MN Mr. Red Mayro 257/2 bull. Big Shot was probably the highest performing animal ever raised on V8 Ranch, with a WW Index of 143% and a YW index of 135%. He was also the 1984 Reserve National Champion Bull and was syndicated by Westmoreland Ranch, Horizon Cattle Company, and Bruce Lowrie. This was the only bull ever to be born on the ranch that we knew he would be a champion from the moment he was born. Pictured here in this photo include WBC Queen, Shawnee Bailey and Bruce Lowrie (right behind the hip).  Due to the bulls height, we can't really tell who is exactly behind him. The showman is James Daniel, the pregnant person in the white pants is Janet Daniel, who was expecting Aubrey at that time. Luann Williams is holding Catherine Williams (1 year old) and the two kids holding the banner are Jake Daniel and Rachel Williams.

+Miss V8 187/3

Grand champion female
1986 international show

This daughter of +JDH Rha Ely Manso 615/6 was out of the +Miss V8 891/2 cow who's pedigree featured heavy U.S. Sugar influence. She was named National Champion at the first show she ever was shown at in 1985. Being a young heifer to win such a big award, she defended this title for the rest of her life and was never beat. Nerves were high in Dallas in 1986 when she competed against 581 entries in the show for her chance to win back to back national championships. When the dust settled, Cover Girl was again selected as the Grand Champion, and 202/3 won the bull show. This gave V8 Ranch the honor of being the first ranch to exhibit both the National Champion Bull and Female, the first ranch in 17 years to accomplish that feat. Cover Girl was the sale feature of our 1986 "Visions of the Future Sale" where her flush was purchased for $40,000 by Barnhart Ranches to help build their Braler program.

+Mr. v8 202/3 Historical herd bull
3 TIME NATIONAL / 2 Time INTERNATIONAL Champion Bull
Breed Legend

From his first showring debut at the Robertson County Fair in Hearne, Texas, we knew this bull was special. He went on to be the breeds only 3-time National Champion and 2-time International Champion. James Daniel is pictured on the left showing 202 with the judge, our good friend Shirley Watt at his first show. He was named National Champion as a calf at the 1986 National Show in Dallas by judge Lee Pritchard. In 1987, he won the National Show in Shreveport under judge Neil Potter. Just prior to the show, our family at J.D. Hudgins, Inc. purchased an interest in 202, making him the National Champion owned jointly by V8/JDH. In 1987, he won the International Championship at Houston. In February 1988, as a 3-year-old bull, he won his second International Championship under judge Lee Berwick. This was a special day for us, not only because of 202/2 championship, but because this was the last show judged by this legendary cattleman. A few months later, in the summer of 1988, we traveled to the National Show in Tampa, Florida, for 202s final showday, where he made history by winning his 3rd National Championship under judge Bob Massey. No other bull in the history of the breed has accomplished this feat. 202 went on to be syndicated throughout the world, and sired many popular herd bulls including Mr. V8 666/3 for us and JDH Madison de Manso 737 for J.D. Hudgins. He sired numerous champions worldwide and several International Champion Get-of-Sire winners.

1989 National show

An own daughter of the #1 cow in the Register of Renown, +Miss V8 617/2 and +Mr. V8 202/3. Jim purchased 666/3 as an 2-month-old calf from the Clayton Williams Brahman dispersal sale. Though she never was able to beat her full sister, Miss V8 725/3 "Amber" in the showring, she did out produce the famous Amber cow. 666/3 is the mother of +Mr. V8 777/4, "Powerstroke", and the grandmother of +Mr. V8 287/5 "Superstroke." She also is the mother of the National Champions Mr. V8 440/4 and Miss V8 642/4.

+Mr. V8 666/3, Mr. V8 606/3, +Miss V8 666/3, Miss V8 725/3 These are four of the most famous offspring of the legendary +Mr. V8 202/3 bull and won him the 1990 National Champion Get of Sire. These four animals were from his first calf crop, and reinforced his dominance as a showring champion who went on to be a sire of champions.

1990 National show

666/3 is one of the great 202/3 x 617/2 matings, and one of the two greatest sons of +Mr. V8 202/3. This bull was also purchased by Bernardo Vega as a two-month old calf at the Clayton Williams dispersal sale. Bernardo gave half-interest to Jim, and together these two men helped make 666 one of the leading sires of the 1990s across the Brahman world. He was used heavily throughout South and Central America, resulting in thousands of offspring registered worldwide. When 666/3 showed at Houston his last time, he was beat by his stallmate +Mr. V8 700/3. However, +Mr. V8 666/3 beat 700/3 in the pasture, and made a tremendous impact on the female bloodlines at V8. It would be extremely difficult to name his most successful daughter. Perhaps it is the International Champion +Miss V8 165/4 cow, who is the mother of the 3 International Champion Females by three different bulls. Another famous daughter is the  +Miss V8 163/4 cow, owned by Catherine Williams, Though this cow died at an early age, she produced the winningest show female ever at V8, Miss V8 2/5. Or, maybe even his daughter +Miss V8 600/4 "Whitney" the two-time "All American" Champion purchased by Roberto Canahuati of Honduras.

1990 national show

This female was one of Rachel's top two all time best junior show heifers, a daughter of +Miss V8 617/2 and +Mr. V8 202/3. This female had an unsurpassed junior show career, winning the 1990 National Champion (beating out her full sister 666/3) and the 1991 International Champion with a calf at side. 725/3 also was the Grand Champion Female and Grand Champion Bred & Owned Female at the 1990 "All American". She is named after our good friend, Amber Odle, who worked on the ranch during high school. When Amber and Mr. V8 666/3 won the National Show in Dallas in 1990, they became the first full brother/sister duo to be selected as National Champions together. The judge of the show that day was Dr. Bill Turner.

mr. v8 801/3 GRand Champion bull
1991 National show

Nicknamed "The Juice", 801 was a popular bull of the early 1990s, winning the 1991 National Championship under hall-of-fame Brahman cattlewoman, judge Emily Dial. This son of 202/3 was out of the famous Beville cow, +Lady Bevo Repucho 609. 801 was used heavily in the Rushing Brahman Ranch and also a favorite amongst Thailand breeders in the 1990s. He also produced two Register of Renown females for Clyde Goudeau of Mississippi.

Under judge Marcus Shackelford, 850/3 was the Reserve International Champion Bull in 1992, shown by herdsman James Daniel. 850 was a popular son of 202/3 and +Miss V8 287/3. His dam (+JDH Mr. Rha Ely Manso x +Miss 3X Mucho Grande 60) was a very popular donor on the ranch. During this time, his full sister, Miss V8 408/4 was also a popular female on our showstring.

1993 interNational show

Born in 1990, here is one of our all time greatest show heifers who more importantly went on to be one of our all time great donors. She produced 3 International Champion Females by three different sires...Miss V8 73/5, Miss V8 780/5, and Miss V8 466/5. This female paid the bills at the ranch for quite some time. On the night before she was chosen as International Champion, Gabriel Camargo of Colombia purchased her flush in the International Sale for $10,000. Later in life, San Rafael Ranch purchased 1/2 interest for $200,000. All in all, she generated over $500,000 in sales for the ranch. She died in 2003 and had a mature weight of 2020 pounds.

"Whitney" was one of Rachel's most popular show heifers, and was later purchased by the Canahuati Family of Honduras as a donor female. She is a daughter of two legends, +Mr. V8 666/3 and +Miss V8 571/3. Whitney's maternal sister, +Miss V8 606/5 is the mother of Aaron Acevedos dynamic duo Miss V8 143/6 and 144/6 who won the International Championships. Pictured here at the "All American" in Lufkin include Wendell Schronk, Sloan, judge Dr. Bill Turner, Rachel, princess Johnna Haarmeyer, Queen Anisa Woods, and Luann. Our friend Brandy Barnes won the Red Heifer show that day, and cousin John Locke won the Gray bull show. She was the first female to win back to back All American Championships(1993 and 1994), a feat that was later repated by the Miss V8 180/5 cow.

miss v8 2/5 champion female
1996 international show

Miss V8 2/5 is the winningest female in the history of V8 Ranch, and is owned by Catherine Williams. Some of her titles include the 1996 International Champion Female and then the 1995 and 1996 National Champion Female. This female was also Grand Champion Bred and Owned Female at the All American. The interesting fact about this female is that her grandmother is the famous Miss V8 400/2 "Annie" female, whom Sloan gave to Catherine as the foundation cow for her Brahman herd. Though she was an older cow when Sloan gave her to Catherine, she produced +Miss V8 163/4 cow, who is the mother of Miss V8 2/5.

The best daughter of JDH Charley Manso 590/6 EVER. One of our most famous champions, this is a direct daughter of Charley and the International Champion +Miss V8 165/4 cow. She was International Champion in 1997, and was chosen by Alice Heitmann to be a leading donor in the Horsegate Brahman program. This stunning female is the mother of the International Champion Bull Mr. V8 730/5 "Tomcat" for Satterfield Ranch and also the mother of our donor cow Miss V8 38/6, owned with Double A Ranch.

In the last year that the International Show was held in the old Astro Arena (prior to Reliant Center), V8 made the record books again by breeding both the Grand Champion Bull and Grand Champion Female that day. The bull was Mr. V8 612/5 and the heifer was Miss V8 831/5. Pictured here was the V8 crew at the show (standing): Jim, Luann, Russell Sciba, Danny Acevedo, Brad Gonce, Lee Smith, Larry Fisher, Matthew Bryson, Barry Smith, Catherine, and Casey. Seated: Cassie Abney, Bill Hyman, Mollie, Payton, Sloan and Rachel.

Two legends are pictured here: +Mr. V8 287/5 being evaluated by Dr. Harlan Ritchie of Michigan State University. Dr. Ritchie attended this show while he was attending the International Livestock Congress at the Houston show. Our family has always held tremendous respect for this legendary animal scientist, but grew especially fond of Dr. Ritchie due to his kindness shown to Rachel while she was a graduate student at MSU. This photo is one we have always treasured.

Grand and Reserve International Champion Bull and Female
2005 international show

This significant day in Brahman history put V8 Ranch in the record books once again for breeding all four International Champions in 2005, a feat never before accomplished in the history of the Brahman breed. One of the best things about this accomplishment is that both the Champion Bull and Female was bred by us, but purchased by our clients, which means we were able to share in this honor with our customers. Pictured front to back include Miss V8 228/6, International Champion Female, owned by Courtni Munson, Miss V8 209/6, Reserve International Champion Female, Mr. V8 924/5, Reserve International Champion Bull (owned by Kallion Farms) and +Mr. V8 846/5 "The Rock, International Champion Bull, owned by Bulls Eye Ranch. Pictured here on this momentous day include Lee Smith, Larry Fisher, Russell Sciba, Derrick Smith, Jim, Sloan, Luann, Rachel and Catherine Williams.
