V8 Ranch is one of the most active supporters of junior Brahman programs in the country, and we enjoy watching our junior clients compete with their calves purchased from us. Many 4-H and FFA members choose Brahman cattle because of their unique personality and look. The junior Brahman programs are also very popular because of the awards and scholarships offered through the American Junior Brahman Association and state junior associations. Since we are located in the Houston area, we also work with many juniors in the urban areas who are looking for a junior livestock project that they can enjoy as a family. We are happy to work with 4-H and FFA exhibitors and their ag instructors/county agents. We gladly accept scramble certificates from all major and county shows. If you’re new to the breed, we’re also glad to help mentor you and give you guidance along the way.

We offer show heifers and bulls year round, with calves priced at all levels. Our junior customers also often enjoy participating at national major shows, their county fairs, school shows, and TCCA shows. For more on junior cattle for sale, visit our sales page.

We encourage our junior clients to consider joining the following junior organizations:

• American Junior Brahman Association (AJBA) – The national organization for Brahman exhibitors ages 8 to 21. This group hosts the “All American” National Junior Brahman Show each summer. Bulls and heifers are eligible to compete. This event also features many leadership contests such as public speaking, showmanship, and more. This organization awards $10,000 in scholarships each year to members of the association. (www.brahman.org)
• Your state junior Brahman association.  – Many states also offer a junior Brahman association, which usually hosts a state show for only those exhibitors who show Brahmans.

• Texas Junior Livestock Association (TJLA) – The TJLA is a multi-breed, multi-species organization for young people who show cattle, pigs, sheep and goats in Texas .
