Knox Harrison Neumayr is an 8th-generation rancher at V8 Ranch in Boling, Texas. The great-grandson of V8 Ranch founders Sloan and Mollie Williams, Knox is already following in the footsteps of his renowned Brahman cattle ranching family.
Born in 2017, Knox is the youngest V8 Ranch family member. Growing up surrounded by cattle, he has developed a deep love and respect for the Brahman breed at a young age. One of Knox’s favorite ranch chores is working with his heifers at the show barn. He particularly bonded with a red heifer named Hubie, saying, “She’s really gentle and has a good disposition.” Knox has already started showing cattle and is excited to compete with Shorthorns in the future.
Why Shorthorns? Well, they’re a Williams family tradition – Knox’s mom, Catherine Williams Neumayr, was a champion Shorthorn showman back in the day! But more importantly, V8 Ranch has a strict rule against competing with our own customers. We’re proud to sell top-notch animals to junior Brahman exhibitors, and we believe it isn’t right to let our family members cherry-pick the best of the bunch from the show barn. It does not align with our values and the fair, honest way we do business. And Knox is totally on board with it! He takes great pride in his growing collection of Shorthorn awards and hopes to help carry on the V8 legacy of raising champion cattle.
When he’s not with the cattle, this sharp elementary student excels in his favorite subject of reading. Knox is an advanced reader for his age and has even started writing his own comic books. He also loves playing video games, swimming, traveling to cattle shows, and spending time at the V8 South Texas ranch. His favorite foods include pizza, filet mignon, and caribou from north of the Arctic Circle.

Leading the Way—One Book at a Time
Knox earned the title of “Principal of the Day” by reaching 100 Accelerated Reader points—pretty impressive for a first grader with a love for learning!

Styled for the Ranch Life
Whether working cattle or modeling V8 Ranch gear, Knox represents the next generation of ranchers with pride and style.
Under the loving guidance of his parents, Catherine and Luke Neumayr, and grandparents, Jim and Luann Williams, Knox is being groomed to one day take over the historic ranch. He already has big plans, like having the ranch hands focus on training heifers and keeping the office open late for after-hours shenanigans (hello, ice cream parties!).
With his passion for cattle, ranching know-how that stretches well beyond his years, and mischievous charm, Knox is poised to lead the next generation at V8 Ranch. This young cattleman is one to watch as he grows into his role, preserving and expanding his family’s ranching legacy.
