Catherine (Williams) Neumayr is a 7th-generation cattle rancher at V8 Ranch. She is also the creative visionary behind all of V8’s marketing materials, along with her husband, Luke Neumayr.
Growing up, Catherine showed cattle for over a decade—particularly Shorthorns—and holds the breed record of exhibiting three back-to-back Junior National Champion Females. She was also the national champion showman for AJSA and the recipient of the Outstanding Junior Breeder award.
After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science, Catherine returned to the ranch to work alongside her father, Jim Williams, and mother, Luann Williams. She brings a fresh perspective to V8’s operations while honoring its rich history.
Catherine first met her husband, Luke, at the 2004 Shorthorn Junior Nationals in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They were both junior exhibitors at the time – Catherine completing her second year on the AJSA Board, and Luke there to show an appendix Shorthorn steer (now known as ShorthornPlus). Interestingly, Luke wasn’t primarily a Brahman or Shorthorn cattleman; he was actually an Angus showman. Their paths crossed again later that year when Catherine’s father, Jim, judged the open Angus show at the Indiana State Fair. A final encounter in Louisville seemed to seal the deal. As they say in the cattle industry, sometimes the best matches are made at livestock shows. Today, Catherine and Luke are raising their son, Knox Harrison Neumayr, who is already following in his mother’s footsteps in the Shorthorn cattle industry.
At V8 Ranch, Catherine plays a key role in management decisions, particularly in breeding and cattle selection. She’s committed to improving the Brahman breed, with a focus on traits like docility and structural soundness. Her approach combines traditional knowledge with modern practices, as seen in her efforts to digitize ranch records while maintaining her father’s handwritten documentation.
Catherine’s marketing initiatives have set V8 Ranch apart in the industry. Drawing from her background in luxury photography, she’s elevated the ranch’s visual brand through pioneering sale commentary videos, creating the first livestock toile pattern, and emphasizing high-quality photo and video content. Her experience brings a level of creativity and professionalism to Brahman marketing that resonates both at V8 and in the global market.
As a member of the American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) Board of Directors, Catherine continues her family’s legacy of industry leadership. She’s particularly invested in the association’s communication strategies, helping navigate the shift from print to digital media.
Looking to the future, Catherine aims to maintain V8’s position as a leader in both Brahman and Shorthorn breeds. She envisions developing climate-hardy cattle that can thrive in diverse environments, with plans to reintroduce a Shorthorn herd to the ranch.

Leading the Shift
As ABBA Communications Chairman, Catherine strives to keep the Brahman breed at the forefront of the industry.

A Legacy of Leadership and Progress
Elected to the ABBA Executive Committee, Catherine Williams Neumayr follows in the footsteps of her father, Jim Williams, and grandfather, Sloan Williams.
Catherine’s approach to ranching and business is grounded in simplicity, quality, and timelessness. She values integrity, believing that a handshake deal and one’s word still matter. This philosophy extends to V8’s customer experience, which she strives to make as refined, upscale, and thoughtful as possible.
Beyond the ranch, Catherine is passionate about supporting women in agriculture and promoting family life in ranching communities. She embodies the balance between tradition and progress in modern ranching. Her dedication to family, cattle, and the agricultural community continues to shape the future of V8 Ranch and the broader cattle industry.
