The program aims to promote the wise use of renewable natural resources, benefiting both rural and urban communities across Texas. These conservation projects help safeguard Texas’ soil, water supplies, and wildlife management areas while promoting responsible agricultural practices for the next generation of stewards.

In South Texas, soil and water conservation is vital for sustainable agriculture. The region’s unique climate and soil conditions require practices that enhance soil health and water management. Implementing strategies such as rotational grazing, maintaining year-round plant cover, and minimizing soil disturbance not only preserves the environment but also ensures the longevity and productivity of agricultural lands.
