V8 Ranch Continues to Set the Bar High in Made for Magic VIII Auction

Six outstanding spring-born heifers from V8 Ranch in Hungerford, Texas, stole the spotlight during the Made for Magic VIII online auction held on October 23-24, 2023. The elite V8 Ranch heifers attracted an average bid of $64,250, with two of them selling as half-interest. Both new and loyal bidders actively participated, emphasizing the brand’s widening influence and credibility.

V8’s Headlining Heifer Earns Top Dollar

The most coveted heifer was Lot 2, Miss V8 799/9, with Brant Barnes of 76 Ranch in Timpson, Texas, laying down the winning bid of $125,250. Regarded as one of the premier females to be part of a Made for Magic sale, this January 2023-born heifer boasts pedigree from the late Mr. V8 891/8 “Pathfinder” and +Miss V8 507/7, belonging to the +Miss V8 805/6 cow family.

Black V8 Brahmans Continue to Turn heads

Skipper Williams of Keithville, Louisiana, bought half-interest in the youngest and flashy heifer, Miss V8 841/9 (P), for $61,750 after she created a buzz on social media. This black female is slated to be a cornerstone of V8’s polled program.

Repeat Buyers Endorse V8’s Reliable Brahman Genetics

Tate Barnes, also from 76 Ranch, secured Miss V8 800/9 for $37,750. This heifer is a full sister to Tate’s previous purchase, Miss V8 443/9, the Reserve Grand Champion at the 2023 All American. She hails from the +Miss V8 165/4 cow family and will be featured on the junior show circuit by the Barnes family.

KI Cattle Expands Their Investment in Sloan Progeny

Jake and Britt Mathews of Ki Cattle in San Augustine, Texas, purchased two daughters of the legendary +Mr. V8 146/8 “Sloan.” Miss V8 791/9 was secured for $36,000 and Miss V8 803/9 for $25,250. These females will join Jake and Britt’s herd in East Texas, adding to their collection of V8 females.

First-Time ‘Magic’ Buyer Secures Heifer with Unique Championship Lineage

Jerald Rossett of Tecolote Cattle Company in  Yorktown, Texas, joined the Made for Magic buyer’s circle by landing Miss V8 801/9 for $35,250. This special heifer brings different bloodlines as an outcross female and is sired by National Champion +Mr. V8 322/8 and out of International Champion Miss V8 824/8. A granddaughter of +Miss V8 21/8 “Boom Shaka Laka,” one of the top 380 daughters in the world, Miss V8 801/9 offers an unmatched blend of balance, stage presence, and pedigree potency.

A Mix of Old and New Faces Shows Growing V8 Fan Base

The auction wrapped up at 7:18 PM, attracting several new bidders, marking a clear uptick in V8 Ranch’s brand popularity. Buyers, both new and returning, joined ‘The Magical Investors Club,’ a growing circle of Made for Magic series enthusiasts.

Owned by the Williams family for four generations, V8 Ranch is already looking forward to the next installment, Made for Magic IX, scheduled for July 2024.
